Priya Nair

Associate Attorney

Priya brings to the firm three years of experience leading intellectual property (IP) and technology priorities for a global trade association. Her background includes briefing policymakers on Capitol Hill, advocating for regulatory change to agencies around the world, and submitting interventions in federal courts on behalf of small and medium-sized software developers.

She has published articles and spoken on topics at the intersection of IP and competition, positioning herself at the forefront of the evolving legal landscape for IP and generative artificial intelligence (GAI), blockchains, and other cutting-edge innovation law and policy. Before joining the trade association, Priya worked at a boutique D.C. law firm, where she gained experience supporting diverse business clients through corporate formation, drafting commercial contracts, and handling contract disputes.

Priya holds a J.D. with a Recognition in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University Law School and is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, New York, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Community and Interests

Priya serves as Vice Chair for the American Bar Association (ABA) Intellectual Property Law Section’s Copyright and Emerging Technologies Committee and Trademark Legislation Committee. She previously served as an appointed member of the ABA Intellectual Property Law Artificial Intelligence Task Force. Priya is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) IP Committee for 2025–2026.

She comes from a family of creatives and entrepreneurs who taught her to combine her love for artistic endeavors and innovation in her work. Priya enjoys spending time in nature, dusting off her rusty musical skills, and trying new foods.
